Being the black sheep in my own family, I created this collection to honor those who share this experience, as they have a unique and vital role in making families truly fantastic.

Families today come in a variety of forms, and society has become more accepting of these diverse family structures, acknowledging that love and support can be found in many different configurations. However, despite the various forms that families can take, the existence of the "black sheep" remains a common element that brings diversity and uniqueness to the group by challenging traditional ways of thinking and behaving, and introducing new perspectives that can broaden the family's horizons.

Being a family's black sheep can be challenging, yet it presents an opportunity for self-discovery, personal growth, and the cultivation of a unique and authentic sense of self. It's worth noting that artists are often seen as "The Black Sheep" as well, as their creative pursuits may not conform to societal expectations or norms. But for those who embrace their individuality and differences, their artistry and creativity can be even more powerful and impactful. Although challenging, the journey towards self-acceptance is ultimately worthwhile as it leads to a deeper understanding of oneself, one's place in the world, and a stronger sense of individuality and personal identity.

With this series, I aim to pay tribute to the black sheep in families. These individuals bring a unique set of qualities and differences that enhance the richness and diversity of family dynamics and I believe that such differences should be celebrated and embraced.

This series not only celebrates the black sheep in families but also recognizes the importance of embracing one's individuality and uniqueness, regardless of whether or not it aligns with societal expectations.
